Media Blitz To Boost Nation's Health Next Year

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Health in collaboration with media organisations has been working towards launching a massive health promotion through the media for the whole of next year.

The campaign aims to educate the public on various health-related issues with the aim of raising the health status of the country.

`Mental Health' is tipped to be the health theme for January next year. Other monthly health themes are `International Women's Day', `World Tuberculosis Day', `World Asthma Day', `Breast Feed Week', `World Sight Day', `Oral Health' to name a few.

A consultative conference was held recently with senior officers from the Ministry of Health and members of the media to discuss the health promotion project for 2006 and how best to implement it and achieve a successful impact in terms of health public awareness.
