Brunei Athletes Leave For Para Games

Bandar Seri Begawan – Brunei's contingent of 23 athletes left for Manila yesterday for the 3 d Asean Para Games in Manila starting tomorrow, RTB reported.

Present at the Brunei International Airport was the Director of Community Development Datin Hajah Adina.

She called on the athletes to demonstrate a true sporting spirit at all times as well as to promote friendship and solidarity among all members of the Asean Para Games.

Brunei will be taking part in 23 sports including athletics, swimming and chess. Joining the squad were 16 officers including chef-de-mission Haji Rosmadee bin Haji Daud.

Brunei won three gold, six silver and three bronze medals at the 2"d Asean Para Games in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2003. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
