Gemilang Celebrates 1st Anniversary

Bandar Seri Begawan – The Gemilang Association of Tutong District or "Gemilang" recently celebrated its 1 st year anniversary at the Dewan Kemesyarakatan in Tutong.

Guest of honor was the District Officer, Awang Mutalib bin Hj. Idris.

Association president Dr. Hj.Amzah bin Hi. Abdul Rahman, outlined activities organised throughout the year.

Gemilang Radio organised a two-metre Net radio and had invited foreign amateur radio operators from the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and other Asian countries to communicate with the locals through Gemilang's frequency on 144.125Mhz.

Gemilang Paramotor has produced 30 men and women pilots.

Meanwhile, the Gemilang Foto is also one of its most active bodies, Besides organising weekly outing, members are active in participating in national or international photo competitions.

The guest of honor expressed his support for the association's efforts in leading the new generation towards positive activities.

He congratulated the Gemilang Paramotor pilots who have succeeded in their paramotor show witnessed- by the Sultan and thousands who gathered at Muda Hashim Primary School during His Majesty's 59 11 birthday celebrations. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
