Showcasing Local Products To World

Begawan – Ten local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have
successfully exhibited various local products and services at the Food
Expo 2005 - held from December 5 to 7 - at the Oman International
Exhibition Centre (OIEC) in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

Food Industries, Hussyn Rahman Enterprise, Marimin Dan Anak-Anak,
Ridah Handicraft, Nabhan Food Industries And Services, Sri Lyeira
Enterprise, Hjh Norsiah Dan Anak-Anak, Amadah Textile And Tailoring,
Perusahaan Aminah And Citra Robi Putih were the participating
companies.
Accompanied by three Ministry of
Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) officers - Head of Delegation
Mariani Haji Sabtu, Coordination Officer Siti Abidah Alli and Logistic
Officer Haji Bahrin Haji Jumat - some of the local companies will
continue to stay in Oman to participate in the Women Expo 2005 from
December 12 to 16 at the same venue.
According to Coordination Officer
Siti Abidah Alli, the objective of participating at the international
expositions is to promote local products and services globally, and
also to allow for international marketing exposure.
"This is in line with the strategic
programme of MIPR for SMEs, so the local products and services are
also internationally competitive and receive good reception in both
local and international markets.
"Towards realising this, His
Majesty's government will continue to strengthen cooperation with
local entrepreneurs to help them build their strength and ability to
compete in global markets through the provision of financial help,
promotion and marketing as well as the elevation of human resource
development through training and transfer of technology," she said.
She said during the events, the local
companies received good reception from international entrepreneurs and
buyers, including those who were interested in marketing the local
products and services.
"There were a number of Oman
entrepreneurs who met our businessmen for business matching too," she
added. --
