Religious Affairs Minister Attends 'Ramah Mesra' In Temburong

Bandar Seri Begawan – A delegation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs led by its minister, Pehin Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Mohd Zain bin Hj Serudin, recently attended a `Ramah Mesra' function together with 200 Islam converts. The function, organised by the Temburong Islamic Dakwah, was held at Dewan Belalong, Bangar, yesterday morning.

Accompanying the minister was the Director of Islamic Dakwah Centre, senior officials at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Acting Temburong District Officer, Awg Shahminan bin Hj Tengah, village heads and invited guests.

The function began with a recital of the Quran by champion of the National Quran competition for Mualaf, Moksin bin Abd Karim, followed by a speech by chairperson of the event, Hj Emran bin Hj Sabtu.

The minister then presented the 'Hadiah Penghargaan' from the Temburong Islamic Dakwah Centre to Mohd Salleh Dicky bin Abdullah, Imam of Kg Selapon, Temburong. The minister also presented a donation to Awg Mohd Yussof bin Abdullah and four others.

Also held during the 'Ramah Mesra' event was a 'Dikir Asrakal' performance and a 'doa selamat'. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
