Arrested With 150gms Of Syabu

Begawan – A 38-year-old Bruneian has been arrested by officials
from the Narcotics Control Bureau and 150.5 grammes of crystal
granules believed to be 'Syabu' were confiscated.
The local man, believed to be
trafficking the Class `A' controlled drug, scientifically known as
Methylamphetamine, was detained on December 10 at around 11.35pm in
Kg. Ayer.
He was apprehended as a result of
surveillance carried out by the Bureau following a tip-off from the
public.
The Bureau also conducted a major
operation and detained several boat operators believed to be involved
in the misuse of drugs.
The objective of the operation was to
control and wipe out the misuse of drug activities in Kg. Ayer.
The Bureau thanked the public for its
support and cooperation in providing information and assistance.
The Bureau again reminded the public
that trafficking of controlled drugs in Brunei carries the death
penalty. --
