Pelangi Recognises Local Artistes

Begawan - Local artistes were awarded in recognition of their
hard work and effort for the local music industry in RTB's Pelangi
network music award show 2004-2005 at the kTB building on Saturday.
The guest of honour during the
special evening for the local artistes was Dato Paduka Awang Haji
Hamdilah Bin Haji Abd Wahab, the Deputy Minister of Industry and
Primary Resources.
Also present were Awang Haji Mohd
Yusof Bin HajiAbd Rahman, RTB director, and other senior government
officials.
Four categories of musical awards
were up for grabs during the Pelangi Music award show.
Hans Anwar topped local artists Faiz,
Milin, Faisal and Ak Amilin to grab the chosen male vocal award. Putri
Norizah, pitted against Diana, Fairuzneezan, Maria and Nana, took home
the chosen ladies vocal award up.
In the chosen duo category,
Sengjakala proved it is one of the best groups in the country by
snatching the award against nominees MNC, Kyodai, Sova X and Sneaque.
The song entitled "Kuimpikan," sung
by Milin and composed by JoeM was picked for the chosen song award.
A special award was presented by the
guest of honour to Phuturephase Production for its effort in evolving
the local music scene. The founder of the company, Hans Anwar,
received the award.
The highlights of the evening
included performances from the nominated chosen songs artistes.
Other artistes included Juju, Zul F,
Hikary 8 and Posessif 79 and AJ dancers. The show was broadcast live
on Pelangi Network 19.4 &91.0 FM and had a delayed telecast on RTB at
10.30pm.
The organising committee of the
Pelangi music award show conveyed its appreciation to Brunei Press Sdn
Bhd, the official media partner of the project. Other supporting
agencies included Regalblue production, Greeneity, Onaz Musical and
Production Studio, Hair Rock, Taka Jewellery, Nouri Jewels, Woodstock
Co and the listeners. --
