Religious Affairs Ministry Buys Three Vehicles From GHK

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Religious Affairs recently purchased three vehicles - Mitsubishi Pajero 4WD, Daihatsu Light Pick Up and ROSA 30-seater bus - from Goh Hock Kee Motors Sdn Bhd amounting to $140,000.

GHK Motors, the authorised dealer of Mitsubishi, Daihatsu and Chevrolet, through its sister company, Daha Trading, has over the years been one of the main suppliers of vehicles to government agencies.

The three vehicles were handed over to the ministry over the weekend by GHK Motors general manager Jake Goh, in the presence of senior officials from both the ministry and GHK Motors.

On hand to receive the vehicles was Director of Administration Awg Hj Abdullah Hj Metassim who also had the honour of sprinkling scented flowers to bless the vehicles.

According to an official of the ministry, two of the vehicles, Daihatsu Light Pick Up and ROSA 30-seater bus, will be used as transportation for events such as visits by mosque youths, religious teachers and officials from the ministry.

The vehicles will also be utilised as transportation during religious events such as Nuzul Al-Quran, Maulud Nabi, conversion ceremony trips, and visits to villages in remote areas.

Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Pajero 4WD was handed over to a representative of the Belait Islamic Dakwah Centre by Awg Hj Abdullah. The vehicle will also be used as transportation for religious events and official visits.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
