Father, Daughter Killed In Car Accident

Bandar Seri Begawan - A father and his baby daughter were killed while eight more were admitted to the hospital when two saloon cars collided in an accident at Jalan Sungai Paku in Telisai around l pm yesterday.

The deceased were Shahrulnizam Maskah, the driver, and his eight-month-old daughter, Shakinah Fatinah, according to the Berakas Fire Services Control Room spokesperson.

Meanwhile, eight passengers travelling in both cars were rushed to the Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Tutong Hospital and RIPAS Hospital for treatment.

The Fire Services Department did not disclose the cause of the accident as it is still under investigation.

According to an eyewitness at the scene of the accident, all the victims were rescued by Fire Services personnel from Sungai Liang and Tutong Fire stations. The accident caused a three-kilometre long traffic jam along Jalan Telisai.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
