Brunei hold Johor to draw
By Dannie Abu Basrah
It was another 1-1 draw and one point
in the bag for Brunei DPMM FC as they drew last night with Johor in
their second game of the 2005/2006 Malaysian Premier League Group A
that saw Antonio Lombardo Tosi once again hitting the net.
Brunei DPMM FC's Fadlin Galawat
nearly provided a dream start in the 4th minute after his left foot
shot beat the goalie but was denied a goal by the woodwork.
The home team slowly found their
rhythm as they moved towards half time the stronger side. Johor were
even presented with a golden opportunity as they were handed a penalty
on the 37th minute after a player was brought down inside the box and
scored from it.
But luckily for Brunei DPMM FC the
penalty had to be retaken as a result of encroachment from a Johor
player that was eventually punched away for a corner by Wardun Yusof.
The deadlock was finally broken on
the 69th minute as Antonio Lombardo Tosi was brought down for a
penalty and he converted the spot kick to give Brunei DPMM FC the
lead.
The lead was shortlived as Johor
equalised two minutes later also from the penalty spot by Md Shahril
Nizam Khalil.
