UBD Student Representatives Attend
Leadership Course

Begawan - Management not only needs knowledge, skills and
patience but also lessons learned from others with experience in
relevant positions. This is where the importance of the leadership
course lies.
This was stated by Vice Chancellor of
Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) at the launch of the Course on
Leadership for the Students Representative Council yesterday.
Speaking as guest of honour at the
ceremony, Dato Paduka Dr. Awg Hj Ismail bin Hj Duraman added that
gaining_ views from others is beneficial.
"Gaining ideas and lessons from
workshops, seminars as well as courses will create effective
decision-making, quick problem-solving as well as a better mindset,"
said the UBD Vice Chancellor.
"The invited speakers have been
carefully selected for their experience in various fields, and will be
excellent guides to new leaders who are participating in the course."
Organised
by the Students Affairs Section of UBD for the Students Representative
Council, the leadership course will run till December 17. The course
got under way at the University's Cafeteria.
Among the main objectives of the
course are to present new knowledge to members, to provide exposure to
new management skills, to enable participants to prepare for physical,
mental and spiritual challenges, to motivatethe participants.
The course is also meant as an early
preparation for future leaders and a platform for strengthening
relations among members of the Students Representative Council.
The course will also take the
participants to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia as part of the activities.
