Brunei For Asian Rugby Challenge

Begawan - The Brunei Darussalam Under- 19 rugby is all geared
up for the Asian Rugby Union- U-19 Championships in Pakistan from Dec
11-19.
The team consisting of 24 players led
by Stuart Alpe, the team manager and two coaches, Timothy Lian and
Mogamat Shafeeq left for Pakistan yesterday.
According to coach Timothy, the team
has been training intensively since June and they are confident of
getting a great result. The team has also won a number of warm-up
matches in recent months.
This is the first time Brunei
Darussalam will be participating in the Asian meet. -
Brunei will be competing in Division
2 against Pakistan, India and Kazakhstan while Korea, Sri Lanka,
Thailand, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Malaysia will be competing in
Division 1.
On the match against Pakistan,
Timothy said Brunei is on the same level and stands a good chance of
beating Pakistan.
Timothy would also like to convey his
appreciation to all the sponsors who had provided immense support for
the team. --
