Anggerek Desa School Awards Top Students

Bandar Seri Begawan - Anggerek Desa Religious School recently awarded its outstanding students at the school hall.

The ceremony began with a recital of Al-Fatihah, conducted by Ustazah Hajah Laki binte Hj Ibrahim, Director of Islamic Studies Centre at the Ministry of Education.

Ustazah Hajah Laki, who was also the chief guest, later delivered a speech as well as giving away prizes.

During the speech, she said parents should not expect their children to achieve excellence in their studies if they themselves do not take education seriously.

She added that parents must encourage their children to learn by spending more time to get to know them better as it builds trust and respect.

After the prize presentation, the signing of the report books by teachers and parents was held at the school hall.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
