Call For New Jerudong Waste Disposal Site

Bandar Seri Begawan - Vendors of Kampong Jerudong wet market as well as nearby residents are appealing to relevant authorities to reassess the present location of the waste disposal facility at the area which has led to a number of inconveniences, particularly the strong bad odour at the market and its surrounding area.

According to a local resident, Awg Zulaihi, there is an urgent need to relocate the waste disposal facility site as the access area is much too narrow and therefore making it difficult to reach.

In addition, a few irresponsible motorists also frequently use the passage as a parking area.

Meanwhile, several vendors are also concerned about the unbearable smell from the waste disposal facility that has affected the number of visitors to the place.

The relevant authorities are urged to rectify this matter immediately by considering a new suitable site that will cause minimal inconvenience to the general public.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
