Brunei, India Discuss Shipping Ties

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei's Deputy Minister of Communications, Dato Paduka Haji Yussof bin Haji Abd Hamid, called on the Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, India, TR Baalu, yesterday and discussed the possibility of cooperation in the port and shipping sector.

The two sides also explored the possibility of cooperation in the area of LNG shipping.. The Brunei minister discussed the expansion and upgrading of ports with Indian assistance, Indian news agency Press Trust of India reported. The two sides discussed the issues of mutual cooperation in the field of port and shipping sector paving the way for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries in the near future.

The Brunei delegation also included the High Commissioner of Brunei, Awg Haji Abdul Ghafar bin Haji Ismail, and other officials.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
