200 Pilgrims Attend Briefing On Haj

Bandar Seri Begawan - A briefing for Haj pilgrims and 'doa selamat' ceremony was held yesterday at the State Mufti's Office.

'It was attended by over 200 persons who will be departing on December 15 and 25 to perform the Haj through Humaira Travel Centre (Borneo) Sdn Bhd.

Guest of honour was Pg Hj Mustapa bin Pg Hj Aliuddin, the Assistant Director of Haj Affairs, at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The ceremony began with the mass reading of `Ummul Kitab', followed by opening remarks by the Managing Director of Humaira Travel Centre (Borneo) Sdn Bhd, Awg Hj Rarnle bin Hj Kamis.

The series of Haj briefings were done by Awg Hj Ramle bin Hj Kamis, Imam Hj Sungoh bin Suru, Mosque Officer from the Office of Mosque Affairs and Awg Pg Hj Othman Pg Hj Yussof, of Royal Brunei Airlines.

The briefings for the Haj pilgrims gave them important information - from preparations that need to be done prior to departure from Brunei for the Haj pilgrimage.

Topics covered included procedures and regulations, what to expect, information on the weather, advice on clothing, health, safety as well as ethics. A 'doa selamat' was read to bless the ceremony and close the event.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
