Ceremony To Bless Mindef's Intending Haj Pilgrims

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Blessing ceremony called `Jiwa Murni' for intending Haj pilgrims of personnel and ex-personnel of RBAF and the civilian personnel of the Ministry of Defence was held recently at the Berakas Garrison Surau.

The ceremony for 29 personnel and ex-personnel of RBAF and its civilian personnel was one of RBAF's annual welfare activities for those performing the Haj.

The event was attended by Awang Haji Mustappa Haji Sirat, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence.

Also present at the event were Colonel Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin, Acting Commander RBAF, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Defence II, Unit Commander and Commandants, Military and Civilian Directors, Officers and personnel of the RBAF and Ministry of Defence.

Most of the intending Haj pilgrims are travelling on a bestowed Haj airfare granted by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

The event was aimed at blessing the safe journey of the Haj pilgrims during their pilgrimage to Mecca.

The intending pilgrims also received gifts including medical packs contributed by the Ministry of Defence and RBAF. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
