NDP Officially Opens Party Headquarters

Bandar Seri Begawan - A member of Privy Council, Pengiran Kerma Negara Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Wahab bin Pengiran Anak Sabtu Kamaluddin, regarded the flag-raising and official opening ceremony of the headquarters of National Development Party (NDP) as historical importance to the people and nation which has enabled party members to demonstrate their undivided loyalty to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

He said NDP members are set to provide their services to the government for the benefit of the future generation of Brunei.

He reminded them not to forget to understand the national concept of being truly dedicated to Islam, the ruler and the nation.

Pengiran Kerma Negara Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Wahab was speaking as the guest of honour during the opening ceremony of the party's headquarters at Limbaruh Hijau in Jerudong. It was attended by more than 200 people including some 10 foreign envoys.

Meanwhile, the 83-year-old president of NDP Yasin Affandy also delivered a speech.

He said the presence of the official guest, foreign envoys, members and guests at the ceremony was a great honour for the party which symbolised their effort and political will to uphold and glorify the sovereignty and independence of the nation.

Earlier, Yasin raised the party's flag which was named Sang Setia or `The Loyal One'.

Pengiran Kerma Negara Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Wahab, foreign envoys, members and guests then witnessed an exhibition dedicated towards the party's activities over the past three months.

The party's monthly newsletter Aspirasi NDP was also launched yesterday morning.

Totalling 16 pages, the first issue covered all the activities conducted by NDP over the past three months.

According to Editor Malai Hassan Othman, the newsletter reflects the aspiration of NDP to establish itself as a mature, credible and respectable political party not only in the country but also in the regional and international political arenas.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
