Festive Spirit Fills Halls Of PWD Belait

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Public Works Department (PWD) in the Belait District yesterday held a Raya celebration, which included the sprinkling of flowers on five PWD vehicles priced at $138,000.

The day also saw the handing over of donations to the children of a former PWD employee, the late Kasim bin Mayau - who passed away on Nov 14 after serving with the department for 23 years.

Speeches were delivered by PWD Senior Work Engineer Pg Alli bin Pg Hj Mohammad and PWD Acting Director of Sewerage and Drainage Abu Hanipah bin Hj Talip.

The objective of such celebration is to foster relations between personnel in Kuala Belait and those in, other districts, said Pg Alli.

In carrying-out the routine task, it has the objective to give the best to the public and the internal staff at PWD. The other objective is to carry-out the trust from Allah - which needs us to carry out our duty in a more committed, responsible, honest way, said Abu Hanipah.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
