Festive Spirit Fills Halls Of PWD

Begawan - The Public Works Department (PWD) in the Belait
District yesterday held a Raya celebration, which included the
sprinkling of flowers on five PWD vehicles priced at $138,000.
The day also saw the handing over of
donations to the children of a former PWD employee, the late Kasim bin
Mayau - who passed away on Nov 14 after serving with the department
for 23 years.
Speeches were delivered by PWD Senior
Work Engineer Pg Alli bin Pg Hj Mohammad and PWD Acting Director of
Sewerage and Drainage Abu Hanipah bin Hj Talip.
The objective of such celebration is
to foster relations between personnel in Kuala Belait and those in,
other districts, said Pg Alli.
In carrying-out the routine task, it
has the objective to give the best to the public and the internal
staff at PWD. The other objective is to carry-out the trust from Allah
- which needs us to carry out our duty in a more committed,
responsible, honest way, said Abu Hanipah. --
