School Awards Students Of Excellence

Bandar Seri Begawan - Dato Marsal Primary School on Tuesday presented prizes to its outstanding students.

The guest of honour was Cikgu Hj Tahir bin Berudin, Senior Education Assistant District Officer of Brunei II and IV of the Ministry of Education, who later presented prizes to the students.

Principal Cikgu Dk Hjh Jabaidah binti Pg Hj Sulaiman, in her speech, said the PSR results this year showed 25.43 per cent improvement, compared to last year.

She added the performance was better than the target set by the Ministry of Education at the national level.

She thanked the teachers for their hard work in ensuring the academic performance among students as well as credited officers of the Ministry of Education for their effort and support.

A certificate presentation was also held for students who participated in the School Immersion Programme, which raised funds for 19 orphan students of the Nanyang School of Singapore.

Meanwhile, parents of children who will be studying at the pre-school level at the Dato Marsal Primary School were briefed on next year's school programme.

The briefing was delivered by principal Cikgu Dk Hjh Jabaidah binti Pg Hj Sulaiman at the school auditorium. Some 137 children will join the school next year as freshmen.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
