AF 2 stars keyed up for New Year Eve at Empire

The Empire Hotel & Country Club held a press conference yesterday for the Akademi Fantasia 2 stars who recently arrived in the country in conjunction with the upcoming New Year Eve celebration at the hotel.

Also present at the media conference was the hotel's Director of Operations Andrew Jordan, Director of PR and Marketing Communications Jennifer Kang and Assistant PR and Marketing Manager Ak Danny.

The Malaysian stars, namely Farah, Linda, Adam, Zahid and Kaer who has just been added to the list of performers for the evening's event will be presenting at least 5 duet and group performances on stage, said AF2 Artist Manager, Cik Baha.

Aznil Nawawi who was also present during the AF2 media conference, did not hide his excitement to host his first ever New Year's celebration in a country which he fondly calls his 'second home'.

He added that he has several surprises up his sleeves for all his fans in Brunei where he will be expected to host the event until the countdown of the show.

Farah, one of the AF2 performers, informed the media that newly choreographed moves have been planned for all their fans during New Year Eve at the Empire Hotel & Country Club. The artistes, who are all excited to celebrate the big event here along with mega artistes such as Anita Sarawak and Gareth Gates, are also looking forward to meet Brunei fans during the performances as well as at the meet-the-fans session.

On top of that, the artistes are currently working on and are looking forward to recording their own solo albums.

Linda, who is also a guitar enthusiast, said she also hopes to have one or more unplugged tracks on her upcoming solo album where Farah has decided to record an album featuring the pop genre.

Meanwhile, Kaer and Adam also outlined their plans for next year where they hope to hold mini concerts as well as recording their albums.

Aznil added that he would be looking forward to meeting Anita Sarawak where he will also be making a special appearance for Anita's Concert at the Empire Theatre to welcome the diva herself.

The AF2 stars also informed members of the media that several big gigs have been planned in the beginning of next year by Maestro Talent of Astro TV Sdn Bhd including the upcoming AF2 tour which will see them performing in several states in Malaysia from January till April starting in Alor Star and ending in Kuala Lumpur.

After the event, the AF2 stars were also given a tour by Director of Operations Mr Andrew Jordan to observe the newly constructed stage which was recently built on top of the level 1 porte cochere rooftop exclusively for the event.

Jennifer Kang, Director of PR & Marketing Communication of the hotel, added that the Empire management has decided to present part of the proceeds from the New Year Eve gala at the hotel to victims of the devastating Tsunami earthquake in South Asia recently.
