Brunei's Fulbright Scholar
Addresses Global Youth Leaders

Begawan - Brunei's Fulbright Scholar, Pg Dr. Hishamuddin,
recently gave a talk to members of the Youth Leadership for Global
Health on the current situation of HIV/AIDS in Southeast Asia.
The talk was held at the Emory
University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Speaking to an audience of community
leaders, Pg Dr. Hishamuddin touched on the global nature of HIV/AIDS
and outlined Brunei's unique cooperative approach between the Ministry
of Health, other government ministries, the Brunei Darussalam AIDS
Council and notable corporations in raising awareness of the pandemic.
In the following discussions, members
of the Youth Leadership for Global Health were in agreement that the
Brunei model is forward looking and were impressed by the level of
cooperation among different organisations towards the fight against
HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Wilma A. Kirchhofer,
Founder/Director of the Youth Leadership for Global Health concluded:
"We've learnt so much and broadened our horizons! We now are aware of
Brunei and the unique implementation of its health promotion
initiatives." --
