Brunei Joins ASEAN Quran Reading In Bangkok

Bandar Seri Begawan – Brunei is taking part in the Quran reading presentation among Asean member countries in Bangkok.

The three-day event is held in conjunction with Prophet Mohammad's birthday anniversary starting today.

Brunei’s participants to the gathering, Mudim Haji Matassim Haji Metusin and Dayang Rokiah Haji Ibrahim left the country last night.

Mudim Haji Matassim is being invited to present his Quran reading among the ASEAN for first time. He won third place in the Musabaqah Tilwatil Quran International Level held in Kuala Lumpur in 2001.

Dayang Rokiah, who also won third place in the Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran for women category in 1999, is the fourth time to be invited to present her Quran reading in Bangkok.
