More Foreigners In Brunei Embrace

Begawan – Number of converts who embraced the Islamic faith
through the Islamic Dakwah Centre is not only made up of local
citizens but also foreigners in the country.
Among the new converts is Awang
Muhammad Ikram Bin Abdullah, a Dusun Kadazan from Sabah.
He has been working in the country
for four years and he converted to Islam on September 27 on his own
accord saying that for him, Islam is the faithful and truthful
religion.
He said that being a Muslim enables
to perform daily prayers and discipline himself.
He feels more peaceful and
comfortable. He is also thankful to Allah the Almighty for rewarding
him a happier and peaceful life.
Another foreigner who converted to
Islam is Dayang Nurdiyanah Binti Abdullah, from the Philippines.
She has been residing in Brunei for
more than a year and converted to Islam on May 13.
She was inspired to the faith of the
holy religion when a friend told her about the teachings of Islam.
She was also attracted by how the
Muslims dressed modestly.
For these new converts, they also
were given courses on the introduction to Islam, both in theoretical
and practical.
The courses were organised in stages
by the Islamic Dakwah Centre.
It is hoped that with the guidance
and encouragement given to them, this will lead them a truly and
