Sultan Off To KL For 12th Annual Consultation

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam left for Kuala Lumpur yesterday for a two-day visit to Malaysia from Tuesday to attend the Annual Consultation with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Accompanying His Majesty are Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg Anak Hjh Saleha and HRH Pg Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar.

Present at the Brunei International Airport were HRH Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, HRH Paduka Seri Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Sarah, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, HRH Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Hjh Zariah, HRH Princess Hjh Masna, as well as His Majesty's sons and daughters, RIB reported.

Before leaving the Istana Nurul Imam, a doa was read by the State Mufti.

According to a statement from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Saturday, the annual

consultation would be held at the Pulai Springs Resort, Johor on Tuesday, Bernama reported.

His Majesty will be hosted to a dinner by the Malaysian premier on Tuesday evening while the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Iskandar, would host a luncheon on Wednesday.

The annual consultation provides a platform at the highest level to forge and enhance mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Brunei, as well as to exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern, the statement said.

The annual event manifests the close personal bonds of friendship between the leaders of both countries, the statement added.   -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
