Bandar Seri
Begawan - The 3rd International Halal Product Expo (IHPE)
culminated with a high note yesterday with the public still flocking
to the International Convention Centre (ICC), on its final day.

Most of the
visitors who came to look- for good bargains were of the
opinion that the expo was a good opportunity to get to know
Brunei halal products which were available' in the markets.
Hj Abd Hamid Halim, 44, who came to the expo for the first
time said that by organising such expo, the public will be
more aware of the local products and hopefully would
continue to support them.
"The expo also acts as a
venue for Small and Medium Enterprises to advertise their
products and consumers could purchase these products at a
much cheaper prize than at supermarkets," he added.
When asked if the expo
needed improvements, |
|
the enforcement officer
responded by saying that this year's expo has been
satisfactory but expressed hope that the next one would
be better and involve more countries. This sentiment was
shared by Hjh Piah Hj Lamat, from Temburong. The
36-year-old housewife with her family on tow, told The
Brunei Times that the last day of the expo was a good
day to search for bargains. |
An avid shopper, Hjh Piah, who
claimed that she had a good eye for bargains, said that though most
of the products being sold such as textiles and jewelleries were
quite pricey and were way out of her budget range, one had to admit
that the products at the expo were of high quality.
For Muhammad Salleh, who mostly go
for health products, said that the expo was a good place to test new
products.
He added that Brunei had organised
quite a number of expos, and by the IHPE reaching its third year
really emphasised that Brunei is really serious in developing the
halal market and industry. --
