Go Kart Race Thrills Public

Bandar Seri Begawan - Bandar Seri Begawan was buzzing with activities yesterday as for the first time in 40 years a Go Kart race was held on the roads around Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien.

Thousands of Go Kart enthusiasts turned up at the heart of the capital to witness the 2008 Brunei Darussalam Go Kart challenge in conjunction with His Majesty's 62nd birthday celebration.

The challenge which was raced on the streets ofJ1n Sultan and JIn Elizabeth around the Taman started off at 10am and concluded around 5pm.

According to one of the spectators, Mr Lim Ming Siong. "It's the first time I have watched a Go Kart race and it's impressive.

"I think it's a great idea to host the race in the heart of the capital. Not only does it attract locals to the capital but also tourists and foreigners," he said.
