42 Students Get Scholarships To
Study In United Kingdom

Begawan - A Briefing and agreement signing ceremony was held
yesterday for 42 students granted government scholarships to study
in the United Kingdom for the 2007/2008 session.
The students will be doing their A'
levels in the United Kingdom through the following scholarship
schemes:
Three were awarded the Special
Scholarship Award Scheme `A level' (BAS) under the Brunei Darussalam
Scholarship Service, 19 were awarded the Scholarship Award Scheme
for Excellent Students (BPC) under the Human Resource Fund,
Department of Economic Planning and Development and 20 were awarded
the Special Education Scheme (to be bonded as teachers under the
Ministry of Education)
Deputy Permanent Secretary at the
Ministry of Education, Awg Haji Mohd Daud bin Haji Mahmud, the guest
of honour, briefed the students on rules and regulations under the
scholarship schemes and instructions and guidelines to follow upon
their arrival in UK.
The students will also be briefed
by Islamic Dakwah Centre and the, Syariah Affairs Department under
the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Narcotics Control Bureau
under the Prime Minister's Office.
There will also be a sharing
session with Bruneian students who are currently studying in the
United Kingdom.
The briefing session is held every
year to prepare the students before they depart the country to
