St George's School Grabs First
Place In BEnA Essay Competition
Bandar Seri
Begawan - BEnA (Brunei Energy Association) recently held a talk
and a prize presentation ceremony for winners of the BEnA Essay
Competition at the Empire Hotel & Country Club in Jerudong. The
competition carried the theme "Awareness of Energy Conservation".
Present as the guest of honour was
the Minister of Energy, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri
SetiaAwang Hj Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar.
Also present was the president of
BEnA, Hj Zainal Abidin bin Hj Mohd Ali.
Invited speakers, Mr Toshihiko Tanaka
(GM of Tokyo Electric Power Inc. Japan) delivered a speech on "Concept
of Energy Conservation and its Applications" and a talk on "New &
Renewable Energy" was delivered by Mr Hideto Nishimura (GM of
Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan). This was then followed by a question
and answer session.
The guest of honour then presented
the prize to the first-place winner in the essay competition. Zizian
Eyon bte Hamlan, a Form One student of St George's School, received a
cash prize of $1,000, a trophy and a certificate of participation.
Gerald Sim Poh Ann, Deputy Principal
of St George's School then received the prize for the winning school
category, which was a personal computer sponsored by Petroleum Brunei.
