The Lennonwise Belts Out Hits From The 60’s & 70’s

Bandar Seri Begawan - More than 150 fans of John Lennon and the Beatles Saturday evening experienced a flashback of music from the 60s and 70s when the Lennonwise enthralled the crowd with their dazzling performances at Hua Ho Manggis Ballroom.

Also present at the show were the Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei, Mr Herijanto Soeprapto, and spouse as well as Thailand Ambassador to Brunei, Mr Sunthon Niyornyath.

"The Lennonwise" comprised ofAi Soon (lead singer and lead guitarist), Jirapat (co lead singer and chord guitarist), Kong Ptum (Bass guitarist) and Danai S (drummer).

The opening song of the night was "Mother", which Lennon was inspired to write based on his personal experience of being away from his mother at a young age.

In the first half of the musical event, more than 20 songs by John Lennon and the Beatles' classic collections such as "Stand By Me", "Woman", "Jealous Guy", "Imagine", "She Loves You" were belted out by the group.

During the second half of the show, the audience was treated to 20 more sets of evergreen hits by various famous artistes of the 60s and 70s such as the Bee Gees and the Eagles.

Also performing, as a guest artiste at the show, was local talent Hubert Yong from KB who wowed the crowd with his singing performances, which included songs from the 60's and 70's as well as a few of his own.

"The Lennonwise" also performed Cliff' Richard's famous hits such as "Living Doll", "The Young Ones" and "Summer Holiday" accompanied by local bass guitarist Albert Chin and lead guitarist Patrick Lim.

The night's grand finale featured performances of the Beatles' famous hit `Hey Jude'. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
