Charity Run Rakes In Over $11,000 For Autism

Bandar Seri Begawan - The SMARTER 100km Charity Run yesterday kicked off at Sg Kebun Mosque with SMARTER President Malai Hj Abdullah bin Malai Othman leading the participants on the lengthy journey.

On hand to officiate the event was Dato Paduka Haji Jemat bin Hj Ampal.

The checkpoints were at Kg Limau Manis Mosque, Kg Masin Mosque, Kg Jerudong Mosque, UBD Mosque, Kg Lambak Kiri Mosque and SetiaAli Muara Mosque.

Today the participants are expected to make a 10:00am stop at the Sungai Buloh Mosque, a 12pm stop at the Kg Serdang Mosque, and a 2pm stop at the Kg Pintu Malim Mosque.

Members of the public are invited to participate in the charity run and may do so by starting at any of the checkpoints.

The final stop will be at Taman Sir Hj Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien, where Minister of Health cum guest of honour Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Paduka Hj Suyoi Hj Osman will be on hand to welcome the participants.

The day also saw DST Group and its subsidiaries making a donation of $11,368.50 to SMARTER, which was witnessed at the UBD Mosque checkpoint.

Acting on behalf of DST Communication Sdn Bhd was its Chief Operating Officer Hj Marshad Hj Ismail, who presented a $5,000 mock cheque to Malai Hj Abdullah.

Kristal Group General Manager Hj Matnarudin Hj Ibrahim was also on hand to present a $2,000 donation.

Meanwhile, Fascom chipped in $2,000. Zippi also contributed $2,000, and a sum of $368.50 was raised by employees of DST Group.
