Bandar Seri Begawan - Nine men hockey teams are now battling each other out in the 2nd Brunei National Hockey League at the National Hockey Stadium since Aug 12.

Defending champion and league leader Lun Bawang started impressively by beating Eratech 3-2 and ABDB 4-0.

Close behind were Belia `A' after beating Belia `B' 3-0 in the opening match and squeezed past Eratech with a narrow 2-1 win on Sunday.

UBD managed to snatch a 2-0 win against their arch-rival ITB, while Belia `B' were held to a 1-1 draw against President XI.

Hockey fans can watch the league action on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5pm. MTSSR will play against Eratech while ITB will meet Lun Bawang on Friday.

Meanwhile, four ladies hockey teams are participating in the National Ladies Hockey League.

ITB will face off against ABDB on Sept 3 while defending champion Rojak will play Belia on Sept 10. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
