Ambassador's Cup football meet

The Department of Co-Curricular Education, Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan, will be organising the 3rd Football Tournament for the Japanese Ambassador's Cup starting on Sept 8.

The opening ceremony, presided by the guest-of-honour, Pehin Dato Paduka Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Deputy Minister of Education, and the first match will kick off at 3.15pm at the Padang Bandaran, Kuala Belait.

A total of 30 teams, divided into four zones have already taken part in the tournament which was open to secondary school students aged below 17 years from all the four districts.

Out of the 30 teams, a total of eight teams have qualified for the quarterfinals with the final match to be held in November.

The tournament is an annual project organised by the Department of Co-Curricular Education, Ministry of Education and aims to select talented players from secondary schools and colleges as preparation for major tournaments in the near future. Sekolah Sukan of BSB were the winners last year.
