Oratory Competition To Boost Student's Confidence In Public Speaking

Bandar Seri Begawan - Five contestants competed in the 4th Oral Presentation Competition 2005 held at the Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical College at Jalan Muara yesterday.

The main objective of the competition was to provide a platform for the students of the college to effectively deliver oral presentations outside of the classroom.

It also served to boost their confidence and upgrade their competence in delivering informative and technical presentation.

Fifteen students from various National Diploma courses were selected by their respective lecturers to participate in the preliminary round held at the Conference Room of the Language and Communications Department.

The preliminary round was judged by the National Language lecturers where five students were short-listed to compete in the finals.

Hadinah binti Hashi of the Science Department emerged as champion in the competition with her topic on `Human Blood' while second place went to Muhammad Zain Ariffin bin Rosli of the Construction Department with his topic `Video Games'. Mohd Yamin bin Abdul Hamid settled for third place in the competition with his topic on `How To Study'. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
