Government Scholarship Students
Attend Talk
By Lalla Rahman
Bandar Seri
Begawan - About 170 new government scholarship students for the
academic session of 2005/2006 yesterday attended a national talk
organised by the Information Department of the Prime Minister's
Office.
The talk was held at the multipurpose
hall of the Fire Services Department, Berakas.
Welcoming remarks were presented by
Director of Information Department, Awang Hj Bujang bin Hj Masu'ut,
who briefed the students who will be going overseas to further their
studies.
"A degree or certificate does not
guarantee the degree holder a job if there is no `value added skills',
which among them include being competent in communication," he said,
urging students to help each other and to maintain the Bruneian image.
Awg
Hj Bujang advised students to get hold of the contact numbers of
relevant officers in the countries they will be studying in so they
would be able to report any problems faced during their stay.
He also urged students to take care
of their personal documents, particularly their passports, and to
report immediately to relevant officers if their documents were lost.
Senior Information Officer, Awang Hj
Ahmad Ghazali Hj Tengah, also delivered a talk. --
