Local Denies Stealing From Mosque

Tutong - A 35-year-old local yesterday denied a charge of committing theft and another of committing mischief before the Bandar Magistrate's Court.

Anas lgbal bin Haji Hidup will be brought before the Tutong Courts on September 3 for trial dates to be fixed.

The defendant is currently released on bail of $1,500 or one local surety.

He is facing a charge of stealing $19 from the Mosque Fund belonging to Kg Kiudang Mosque sometime during the wee hours of August 19.

The second charge alleged that the defendant had committed mischief by causing wrongful damage to a wooden box used to keep the mosque funds on the same day. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
