Stamp Drawing Competition To Mark
100th Anniversary Of Postal Services Department

Begawan - A stamp drawing competition will be organised by the
Postal Services Department to mark its upcoming 100th anniversary
carrying the theme "100 Years of Postal Services Department".
The competition is open to citizens
and permanent residents aged from six to 17 years.
This was disclosed at a briefing
conducted by the Postal Chief Superintendent, Awg Ahmad DSDiraja Hj
Mohd Yussof at the Mail Processing Centre in Berakas.
The competition aims to encourage
youth through the drawings so as to understand the importance of
communication through the available postal services and in
strengthening ties among relatives, friends and public members.
It will also give youth’s greater
exposure on the importance of using and the building of interest in
collecting stamps.
The competition is divided into two
categories, namely Category A for age six to 12 and Category B for
ages 13 to 17.
Each entry must use a drawing block
paper measuring 19 cm by 19 cm enclosed with the entrant's full name,
identity card number, address and contact number as well as a copy of
their identity card.
All entry forms must be certified by
the principal of the respective schools along with the official school
stamp.
Winners of Category A will receive
cash prizes of $350, $250 and $150 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
respectively while a consolation prize of $50 will be awarded to the
4th, to the 10th place winners.
Cash prize of $500 awaits the winner
of Category B, while 2nd and 3rd place winner will receive $400 and
$300 respectively and the remaining seven will receive consolation
prizes of $100 each.
Yesterday's briefing was attended by
principals and teachers from schools throughout the nation, who were
briefed on the rules and regulations of the competition. --
