Brunei
By Lyna Mohammad
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel Shikishima is
scheduled to arrive at Muara Port tomorrow and will be in the country
until August 29, the Embassy of Japan announced yesterday in a press
communique.
Among the various activities lined-up
for the Brunei visit are a courtesy call and a reception by the
Commanding Officer as well as meetings for exchanging information.
The visitors will also be undergoing
a combined exercise, the second of its kind, against piracy and armed
robbery as part of efforts to enhance closer ties with the Marine
Police and Royal Brunei Police Force as counter-partners of the Japan
Coast Guard.
"The visit also acts as a landmark of
co-operation between the Marine Police, Royal Brunei Police Force and
Japan Coast Guard," the embassy further disclosed, adding that through
these activities, they believed the co-operation and collaboration
between the three would be enhanced and developed. --
