Two Immigration Offenders Jailed, Fined

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two Indian nationals were brought before the Magistrate's Court yesterday to face sentences after they pleaded guilty to committing offences under the Immigration Act.

Farook Mohamed Hanifa was jailed for two months for the charge of possessing a forged pass by faking a social visit pass onto his passport.

Meanwhile, Iliyas Mohamed Meerasa was fined $500 or in default two weeks' jail after admitting to overstaying in the country after his social visit pass expired. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
