Immigration Suspect Nabbed At
Building Site

Begawan - The Immigration Enforcement Unit has apprehended an
illegal immigrant who managed to sneak into the country through a
border control post.
The Indonesian man was caught during
a routine inspection at construction site of a house in Kg Tanjong
Nangka yesterday afternoon.
He was busy with his tasks at the
building site when seven enforcement officers led by Senior
Immigration Officer, Sabtu bin Hj Alim took him by surprise.
The suspect was unable to produce any
immigration documents when asked
by the officials. Upon questioning,
he admitted to entering the country illegally with a friend without
any immigration documents or passport by sneaking through the Kuala
Lurah Immigration Control Post.
He is expected to be charged under
Chapter 6 (I) (c) of the Immigration Act for entering and living in
the country illegally.
A summons letter for the owner of the
house under construction was issued as it is an offence to employ an
immigration offender. --
