Outstanding Working Group
Convention opens

The Language and Literature Bureau,
one of the participants of the Outstanding Working Group Convention,
is holding a book sale at the Civil Service Institute
All working people of any
establishment are leaders in their own right. They should practice a
two-way conversation in order to ensure smooth operation and to better
understand the situation of the establishment.
This was stated by Permanent
Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Dato Paduka Awg Hj Idris bin
Hj Belaman, who was the guest of honour during the opening of the
Outstanding Working Group Convention at the Civil Service Institute
yesterday.
"The technological and global era
creates better communication among all," he said, explaining that this
meant that better management was possible.
The convention will draw to a close
tomorrow (August 24) with the announcement of the winning project. It
is an annual competition that is organised by the Civil Service
Institute.
Among the objectives are to create
better working conditions, encourage work initiative, effective
services, professional work handling and improve productivity as well
as output.
Each team would be judged on how they
plan, execute, check and implement their respective projects.
Every year, the convention has seen
an increasing number of participants. Thus, improving the services
provided to the public further. The project first began in 2001 with
only 17 entries. This year, 24 are participating in the competition.
The judging panel is made up of
professionals of which three are from the Civil Service Institute -
Awg Md Zeni bin Latip, senior training officer; Awg Hj Md Tahir bin Hj
Awg Alli, acting senior training officer; and Awg Hj Said bin Hj
Yussof, acting senior training officer. Also in the panel is Lim Yu
Been, the director and principal consultant of Metapereneurs Inc Pte
Ltd, Singapore.
One of the participants of the
convention is the Language and Literature Bureau whose displays have
been put up at the ground floor of the Civil Service Institute. A
variety of specially discounted books are also available.
