Brunei kite team partakes in Bintulu festival

A team from the Brunei Kite Federation yesterday headed to Bintulu, Sarawak, in preparation for the Kite Festival 2005, which is set to run from August 22 to 28.

The Brunei team - comprising President Hj Maidin bin Hj Ahmad and 10 others - will participate in the 'berpulut' and a kite-making workshop among others.

In addition, the team will promote the kite tradition in Brunei, which is known as Rukaku.

President Hj Maidin bin Hj Ahmad, who is also the Asean Kite Council Treasurer, expressed hopes that there will be more opportunities to explore the game at an international level.
