Brunei, Pakistan Sign Double Tax Agreement

Islamabad - Pakistan and Brunei have agreed on the draft for the Convention on Avoidance of Double Taxation.

This was decided during the negotiations between a three-member Brunei tax delegation headed by Pg Haji Mumin, Director of Special Duties (Revenue), Ministry of Finance and Pakistani delegation headed by Member (Direct Taxes), Central Board of Revenue, Muhammad Faiyaz Khan, Pakistani media reported.

The Brunei delegation arrived in Islamabad on August 17 and held second round of negotiations with tax authorities from August 18-20.

A press release on Saturday said talks were held in a cordial and congenial atmosphere.

Both sides presented and appreciated each other's respective positions and in continuation of the spirit of accommodation and brotherly relations existing between the two countries. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
