IEE Members Visit JTB

Bandar Seri Begawan - Several members of IEE Brunei Branch recently made a study visit to the JTB Telephone House in Kg Sumbiling as part of their ongoing activities.

The visit began with a briefing by the Director of NGN and Network Services, Hj Sahrali din Abdul Momin.

According to Hj Sahralidin, JTB's NGN (Next Generation Network) will commence full operation in October.

The main aim of this NGN project is to enable JTB to offer most of the telecommunications services with more advanced features and foolproof technology.

He added that the existing `AT&T 5ESS' and the 'Siemens EWSD' will bee eventually be phased out to make way for the new technological advances for the benefit of JTB customers.

The IEE entourage was later taken on an exclusive tow around the premises. The visitors also took the opportunity to observe the NGN operations in progress.

IEE Brunei Branch will be organising an Annual General Meeting on the 19th September 2005. Members attending the AGM will be given IEE souvenirs and will also enjoy the buffet dinner.
