DPMM FC Fight Back To Win
By Dannie Abu Basrah

Bandar Seri Begawan - There were no changes at the top of the 2005 B-League Premier 1 table as leaders DPMM FC came back from a goal down to defeat QAF FC 2-1 at the Belapan field while close competitorAH United thrashed Bandaran KB 6-2 at the JBS field last night.

QAF FC captained by Prince Abdul Qawi featured their new Japanese signing Ito Dan who obtained his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) just in time for the match.

DPMM FC also paraded their latest addition, Filipor Dalipor from Croatia.

Both teams started the game cautiously due to a slight drizzle that affected their passes and control of the ball.

Despite the slippery condition, Filipor Dalipor managed to provide the early serious action as he superbly took a free kick on the 11th minute aiming the top of goal before it was punched away to safety by QAF FC goalie Azman Ilham Hj Md Noor.

Riwandi Wahit could have put his side in front on the 25th minute after a blunder from the DPMM FC defence saw him free with the ball in the 5-yard box but had his shot brilliantly parried away by Pg Hamzah Pg Hj Abd Rahman for a corner.

But the best chance of the first half fell to Riwandi Wahit again- on the 42nd minute after Ito Dan brilliantly picked out the striker from the edge of the box free kick but Riwandi aimed his free header wide off target with the half ending scoreless.

After the breather, the game exploded into life on the 48th minute when Hardi Bujang scored QAF FC first and only goal.

He cleverly chipped the DPMM FC goalie from five yards from a free kick delivered into the box to put his side in front. Two minutes later Mardi Bujang headed inches wide after a pinpoint delivery from Ito Dan.

Stunned by the goal, DPMM FC stepped up their attack soon after but failed to penetrate the QAF FC defence until the 64' minute when Filipor Dalipor scored the equalising goal on his match debut with a header from a corner.

The goal lifted the spirits of DPMM FC players. Rosmin Hj Md Kamis nearly scored but his free kick shook the woodwork on the 77th minute.

Goran Vusanovic finally scored the winning goal on the 81st minute with a tap-in after brilliantly set up by strike partner Filipor Dalipor as DPMM FC went on to win the match 2-1. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
