82 RBAF Officers Promoted

Bandar Seri Begawan - With the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, a total of 82 Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) officers were promoted in a ceremony that took place yesterday at the Officers' Mess in Berakas Garrison.

On hand to present the promoted officer's rank insignias was the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awg Halbi bin Hj Mohd Yussof.

Also included in the promotion were two Fire Officers commissioned as RBAF Special Commissioned Officers who were both promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. They are 735 Lieutenant Pg Ariffin Pg Hj Mahmud and 736 Lieutenant Awg Shamsul Iskandar Zulkamain.

The promoted officers include those from the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Navy and the Royal Brunei Air Force.

Also present during yesterday's ceremony were other senior officers, invited guests as well as families of the promoted officers. A `Doa' was later read to bless the occasion. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
