Jeddah-Bound Plane Departs After Defect 'Rectified'
By Azlan Othman

Bandar Seri Begawan - RBA flight B1083 bound for Jeddah took off at around 12 midnight on Wednesday with all its passengers, nine hours after the aircraft developed a mechanical problem with its nose landing gear 20 minutes into the flight.

The RBA Public Relation Office stated that the passengers were taken care of and the passengers departed in the same aircraft once the defect was rectified and certified by the engineers.

"It was a normal landing and emergency procedures were activated immediately following standard procedures. It is not an emergency landing as the emergency slide was not deployed," said the Public Relations Office. The plane carried a crew of 11 and 232 passengers.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
