Japanese Students Arrive For Visit

Begawan - Eight Japanese students comprising four boys and four
girls who were selected from around Japan had, arrived yesterday in
the Sultanate as part of an invitational exchange programme.
The Embassy of Japan in a press
release disclosed that Brunei is their first destination and the
students will be here until this Sunday.
The exchange programme is sponsored
by Japan's Yomiuri Newspaper, the main organiser, and Mitsubishi
Corporation, the co-organiser.
The aim is to foster greater
understanding between the people from Japan and its neighbours.
While in the country, the visiting
students will tour various places of interest. Amongst the places to
visit include Brunei Liquefied Natural Gas (BLNG), where they will
observe the production process and study the economic relationship
between both countries.
Apart from BLNQ they will also visit
Mc Farm, part of Mitsubishi Corp, to learn about animal husbandry and
hydroponics farming and make a trip to Ulu Temburong to learn about
the flora and fauna in the country.
Visits to Brunei Museum, Jame' Asr
Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque and the Water Village will expose them to a
true sense of Brunei culture.
Their five-day itinerary will also
include a courtesy call on the Japanese Ambassador, Yoshinobu NISAKA,
at the Japanese Embassy here, as well as attending get-together
sessions with Bruneian youths.
Meanwhile, Brunei students will have
their turn to visit the Land of the Rising Sun next month as part of
the exchange programme which is under the cosponsorship of the
Brunei-Japan Friendship Association (BJFA), BLNG and Mitsubishi Corp.
