Senior RBF Officers Attend Talk On
Strategic Planning

Begawan - Thirty senior police officers of the Royal Brunei
Police Force (RBPF) took part in a talk, "Formulating- and
Implementing Strategic Plan", at the Police Continuous Learning Centre
in Beribi yesterday.
Present as the guest of honour was
Police Commissioner of Brunei Pehin Data Kerma SetiaDato
PadukaZainuddin bin Jalani.
The talk, delivered by associate
professor at Universiti Brunei Darussalam Dr Chee Kim Loy, touched on
the importance of strategic planning as well as its concepts and
benefits such as increased organisational effectiveness, operational
effienciency, improved understanding, better learning, better decision
making, and improved communications and public relations.
Dr Chee also talked about some of the
features in a strategic plan for a police force such as discussing the
external and internal factors of strategic planning.
The objective of the talk was to
provide the senior police officers an understanding of the balanced
scorecard (BSC) framework of strategic thinking and strategic
management for public organisations.
It was also aimed to provide them
with an opportunity to discuss some key issues of the development and
implementation of strategic plan for RBPF.
Before the talk, an introduction was
delivered by Director of Training Unit of General Administration and
Finance Hj Mohd Salleh bin Hj Mohiddin. The event ended with a
question-and answer session. --
