India's Independence Day Flag-Hoisting

Bandar Seri Begawan - On the occasion of India's 59th Independence Day on August 15, 2005, a flag-hoisting ceremony will be held at 10 am at the High Commission of India's Chancery at "Baitussyifaa" in Simpang 40-22, Jalan Sungai Akar, Bandar Seri Begawan.

In a press release, the Indian High Commission said the function will start with the unfurling of the flag by the High Commissioner followed by the singing of the Indian national anthem and the reading of the Indian President's message to Indian nationals, both in and outside India, by the High Commissioner.

This will be followed by light refreshments. The press release said that all Indian nationals and friends of India in Brunei are invited to the function. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
